Hertford Bricklayer

Hertford is the county town of Hertfordshire. The name is Anglo Saxon and means the ford frequented by harts or stags. Hertford has the remains of Hertford Castle. Hertford Castle was a Royal Palace for over 300 years. The River Lea runs through Hertford on its way to London. Located on the A10 which provides a link into North London. History Around the Norman Conquest the River Lea formed a natural boundary between the Danelaw to the north and Saxon Wessex to the south. Bengeo and Hertingfordbury Saxon villages already existed at and in the early 900s Edward The Elder, son of Alfred The Great, founded two fortified settlements, north and south of the Lee crossing from this 2 towns evolved.
